
Over 200 people attended the innagural McCord Update, called Beyond McCord, and the 2010 Annual General Meeting that took place on Wed 28th July . Staff, friends of McCord and business partners heard about where McCord is heading in the next 100 years, what the key achievements and challenges were at McCord over the past 12 months, and what the latest international trends in healthcare are. Support the 2010 Sinikithemba Children's Christmas CelebrationSinikithemba, McCord's HIV programme, will be hosting a Christmas Celebration throughout the month of November for the 1250 children who are enrolled in the HIV programme. 50 children per day will celebrate Christmas, enjoy a lunch and snacks, and recieve a Christmas gift, starting November 1 through to November 26. We are calling for individuals to sponsor one child to attend the Christmas Celebration (R75), or for companies to sponsor one day (R3750) or one week (R18,750) of the Celebration. All donors (or employees of sponsor organisations) are invited to attend the Celebration as volunteers and assist the Sinikithemba team with supervising the children. Abanqobi perform at the McCord Update and Annual General MeetingAward winning accapella gospel choir, Abanqobi, peformed for the more than 200 audience members at the 2010 McCord Update and Annual General Meeting. The group performed several songs, including a version of Happy Birthday for Director of the Board of McCord, Professor Zulu, whose birthday coincided with the event. Abanqobi is a partner of McCord Hospital.
